After graduating from high school, he entered the workforce and went on to build career as a UPS delivery driver, dedicating more than 34 years to the company. At the age of 17, Joe met the love of his life, Josephine, at Pinelake in Lindenwold, New Jersey. Together, they built a happy life and lovingly raised two children. Family was always important to Joe, and he treasured the time spent with his loved ones.
Joe’s love of sports was a defining part of his life and a source of many cherished memories. He treasured the years spent supporting his son in athletics, proudly coaching, encouraging, and cheering from the sidelines as he played baseball, basketball, football, and soccer. Always eager to help his son develop confidence, discipline, and new skills, Joe encouraged him to pursue boxing and karate as well.
A devoted Philadelphia sports fan, Joe faithfully cheered on his hometown teams and loved sharing that passion with his daughter. Whether watching a game together or celebrating a big win, sports provided them with many special memories.
Joe’s passion for athletics also extended to the field. He spent countless years playing softball for his church, workplace, and township teams, often taking the pitcher’s mound on Sundays before enjoying the camaraderie and friendships he built with his teammates.
In retirement, Joe found joy in traveling and sharing many cruises with his wife and daughter.
Joe is survived by his wife of 59 years, Josephine Marcavage, and his two children, Joe and Ellen Marcavage. He was also known and cherished by the neighbors and friends who shared in more than 50 years of community, friendship, and memories with him.
