Joseph I. Maum, Jr. Joseph I. Maum, Jr. died on Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at his home in Deer Meadows in Philadelphia. He was 93. Mr. Maum was a proud US Marine veteran of World War II who fought in the Battle of Okinawa. He was also a China Marine. Mr. Maum was a retired salesman for Keystone AAA Insurance. Beloved husband of the late Ellen (Maloney), Mr. Maum is survived by his devoted son, Joseph III and his wife, Eileen and his 4 loving granddaughters, Ellie, Katie, Megan and Colleen. He will also be sadly missed by his sister, Anne McLaughlin; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Jim and Theresa Byrne and John and Maria Maloney; and many nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday from 9:00 until 10:00 am at Deer Meadows, 8301 Roosevelt Blvd., Philadelphia, where his memorial service will be held at 10:00 am. Interment will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Marine Corps Law Enforcement Foundation, 273 Columbus Avenue, Suite 10, Tuckahoe, NY 10707.
