Born in Dunbar, PA, she was a Lower Bucks resident for most of her life. She met her future husband, James, in Dunbar. He came to the area to work at US Steel, and she followed after they were married in 1955. She found employment in the Accounting office of Bell Telephone. She retired from Bell in her mid-fifties.
In her spare time, she liked to travel and go on cruises. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and a parishioner of Saint Frances Cabrini. Above all, her favorite pastime was spending time with her granddaughter.
Predeceased by her parents, Alphonso and Clara Marfongella; her husband of 22 years, James Dominick; her sisters, Marie Hagner, and Carmella Mullins.
Josephine is survived by her daughters, Joanne Ames and Jamine Dominick-McLaughlin (Neil Mayoros Sr.); her granddaughter, Shannon McLaughlin (Josh Sikorski); and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2025 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown, PA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at 9:30 AM at Saint Frances Cabrini Church, 325 S. Oxford Valley Road, Fairless Hills, PA. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Bensalem, PA.
