Lana lived a unique life, trying her hand at many things and enjoying handicrafts of various kinds. Lana worked as a checkout coach for Giant Foods for seven years, but prior to that she worked as a dental assistant, a medical receptionist,, and even as a diamontologist and gemologist while working with a jeweler. She made dreamcatchers as hobby, making these small works of art for friends and family. She was also a proud Cub Scout leader and Den Mother.
Most of all, Lana's greatest love was her family. She was a devoted and loving wife and mother. She adored her grandchildren and loved attending their functions, particularly the lacrosse games. Lana did everything she could to always ensure that her family came first and that they had everything they could need. Her love and warm presence will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Lana is survived by her husband, Daniel; her sons, James McCole (Kathleen), Charles McCole (Marcia), and Joseph Dewey (Anna); her siblings Donna, Packy, Luke, Karen, and Judy; her grandchildren Abigail, Daniel, Drake, Paige, Eliza, Avalon, Helen, Sarah, and Jon; as well as a host of loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Services will be held privately. Donations may be made in Lana's memory to the Foundation for Women's Cancer, 26533 Network Place, Chicago, IL 60673-1286.
