Larry S. Taylor passed away on June 7, 2026, at the age of 76. He leaves behind his loving wife of 49 years, Gale Taylor, along with the friends and family who meant everything to him: his children, Laurie Vivian (Ron Loftus) and Michael Taylor (Patti Taylor); and his cherished grandchildren, Allison Taylor Vivian (16), Olivia Grace Taylor (11), Josie Elizabeth Taylor (9), Ava Jade Loftus (8), Isla Jeanne Taylor (7), and Ronald Francis Loftus III (6). Larry took tremendous joy in watching his children and grandchildren grow, especially through their involvement in sports and achievements. He was deeply proud of the people they have become and all they have accomplished, never missing a significant milestone. A longtime resident of Bucks County, Larry resided in Levittown, Trevose, and Feasterville, Larry was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, friend, coach, and mentor. His life was defined by hard work, dedication, and an unwavering love for the people around him. Born in Port Arthur, Texas, to Jane Arvilla Creech, Larry moved to Bucks County at a young age. A proud graduate of Neshaminy High School, Class of 1968. Shortly after graduating he joined the United States Air Force and attained the rank of Sergeant. After completing his military service, he began his sales career in men’s clothing before transitioning into automobile sales, where he spent more than 40 years. His work ethic and the people he served reflected the same dedication he brought to every part of his life. Larry cherished time at the beach, listening to oldies music, and watching his family grow. Nothing brought him greater joy than the company of his wife, children, grandchildren, and friends. A lifelong softball enthusiast, Larry spent countless years playing and coaching the game he loved. It was on the field that he became known to so many as “LT” and “Coach.” He was especially proud of his softball teams and the championships they won while playing for Gleeson’s and Bailey’s. Most recently he was looking for the same outcome with his current crew on The BCS Builders. He treasured the friendships he built both on and off the field. He could often be found at local ball-fields hitting balls and staying fresh for the next game. Sundays were frequently spent on the softball field, followed by time with friends and teammates at local bars, such as Bailey's and Gleeson's. Larry was also an avid wrestling fan. Having wrestled in high school, he loved attending the state championships in Hershey, PA, and sharing that passion with others. He is survived by his siblings, Gary Taylor and Pam Tarone, along with many extended family members, friends, former teammates, and players who were shaped by his kindness, humor, and guidance. Larry is reunited in eternal rest with his parents, Jane and James Taylor; his brother, David Taylor; and his beloved dogs, Honey and Molly. Services will be held at James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown, Pennsylvania, on Wednesday June 24, 2026, from 6:00–8:00 p.m. A secondary visitation will take place on Thursday June 25, 2026, from 9:00–10:00 a.m., followed by a memorial service at 10:00 a.m. Larry will be laid to rest with Full Military Honors at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Road, Newtown, Pennsylvania, on Thursday June 25, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. Though he may no longer be with us, Larry’s spirit will remain present at family gatherings, at the local bars and on the softball field where you may still find one ball that got away.
