Linda Jean Thompson (nee Pearce), age 86, of Langhorne, PAa, formerly of Blairsville, PA, passed away peacefully on October 30, 2024.
Linda was born July 9, 1938 in Blairsville, PA, to parents, John Clark (J.C) Pearce and Mildred A. Pearce (nee Artley). She graduated from Blairsville High School in 1956 and continued her education. Linda graduated from Robert Morris School of Business in Pittsburgh, PA. She went on to establish a career as a Volunteer Coordinator, working for State of Pennsylvania Psychiatric Facilities for over 25 years.
Linda enjoyed spending time at the beach and with her family. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing, knitting, and quilting. Linda was also an EMT and Paramedic for the Citizens Ambulance in Blairsville, PA. In addition to this service, Linda was a member of The Order of Eastern Star in Latrobe, PA, and belonged to the Red Hats. Furthermore, she was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Hulmeville, PA.
Linda was always willing to help others, and was known for her beautiful smile.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents J.C. and Mildred Pearce.
Linda is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, William Carl Thompson; her children: Jeffrey Thompson (Mary) of Blairsville, PA and Deborah Messina (Robert) of Hulmeville, PA; her grandchildren: John Thompson, Joseph Thompson, Robert Messina III (Elana), Jacqueline Gormley; and one great grandchild, Adalyn Gormley.
A memorial service for Linda will be held at a future date
