Luigi "Gino" Pompili of Yardley died on Friday, November 3, 2017 at Aria Health Bucks County. He was 79.Born in Abruzzi, Italy, Gino formerly resided in Northeast Philadelphia where he was a member of St. John Neumann Parish. He has resided happily with his family in Yardley since 2009.Gino was a master cabinet maker and a member of the Carpenters Union #359 in Philadelphia. My father was a man who always had a smile on his face for anyone he met. His smile was contagious. He was quick to shake your hand, give you a hug and make you feel right at home. He genuinely wanted to know about you and how your day was going. His family was always his #1 priority. When his granddaughter, Nicole, was born, his happiness was taken to another level. His smile when he spoke of her or simply was in the same room with her cannot be described. She was the jewel of his eye. He also loved his daughter in law , Lisa. He would speak of her in such regard. "Lisa can fix anything" was his favorite saying. He loved her so much , he loved her like a daughter. Their love and care for our pets was amazing. It gave them such a strong bond. His other passions were travel. Along with my mother, the happy couple have seen places in their lives that one could only dream. My mother and he were inseparable. They were marrried almost 50 years. They never left each other's side. This bond and love for each other helped our core family values thru the years. He also loved to cook. He taught me everything he knows. Yet, he was still the master. He was quick to feed anyone in the house (even if they were not hungry). He was a wonderful father, grandfather & husband to my mother. He has made me the man I am today. His family values are instilled in all of us. He lived his life to the fullest. He is gone but his smile and love will always live in our hearts forever. Gino is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Maria M. (Diaz). He is the loving father of Luigi Pompili Jr. (Lisa) and the devoted grandfather of Nicole Pompili. He will also be missed by his brother Valentino Pompili and all his family in the U.S., South America & Italy.Services are private. This was his wish. He wanted to be remembered as he lived. He was always a happy friend, husband , father and grandfather. We would like everyone to honor his memory by simply remembering his smile and love for everyone. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
