M. Phyllis Van VossenM. Phyllis Van Vossen went home to be with her Lord on Monday, November 28, 2016. She was 86.Born on the Van Vossen farm on Durham Road, Bristol, PA, Phyllis was the devoted daughter of the late Philip and Anna (van As) Van Vossen. She was a lifelong resident of Lower Bucks County. A graduate of Langhorne Middletown High School class of 1948, and a graduate of Peirce College class of 1949. Until her retirement in 1989, she was employed by PECO.Phyllis loved music and gardening. She was a former member of Calvary Baptist Church, in Bristol, and most recently at the former Calvary Community Church in Penndel. For many years she played the organ at both churches, and led the choir at Calvary Community. Phyllis also served in the AWANA program in several capacities at Calvary Community.Phyllis is survived by her sisters, Marie Van Vossen of Langhorne, and Grace Arnott of Beckley, WV. She is also survived by a niece, and two nephews, and their spouses. She will also be sadly missed by several great nieces and nephews.Miss Van Vossen was preceded in death by her parents, Philip and Anna, sisters, Elsie and Ann Van Vossen, Eleonor Fry, and brother, Philip Van Vossen.The family wishes to express special thanks to the staff of Spring Village at Floral Vale, and Eleanor's Garden Hospice. Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday, from 10:00 until 11:00 am at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown, where her funeral service will be held at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in Beechwood Cemetery, Bensalem.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Phyllis' name may be made to County Corrections Gospel Mission, PO Box 1136, Coatesville, PA 19320.
