Marc Dyas

Born and raised in Jersey City to Edward J. and the late Barbara (Gowers) Dyas, Marc was a graduate of North Arlington (NJ) High School, where he played football. He moved to Tennessee for his work in the restaurant business, and welcomed the birth of his first child, Tyler, in 1998. He moved to Pennsylvania in 1999 and resided in Morrisville, where his daughter, Brook-Lyn, was born. During that time Marc drove a truck for Chem Central before accepting a position at Verizon that he held for 10 years. After Verizon, he went to work as a yard operator at Univar in 2021.

In 2007, Marc met the love of his life, Danielle. Their relationship will always be like no other. Tyler, Brook-Lyn, Marc and Danielle immediately became a family that will forever stand together. Together they welcomed Jayden to complete their core in 2013. In October Olivia will officially become a Dyas family member, but to Marc she is and always will be his second daughter. While Marc won’t physically be present to celebrate the wedding, his spirit will be with us. Marc’s pride and joy is his family, they are his home and where he always wanted to be. He was a supportive, nurturing, father, unwavering in his love for his children. He was their rock and will live on through them and their achievements. As a husband, there is no comparison. Not a day went by when Marc did not show and tell his complete adoration of Danielle and his gratitude for the times they spent together.

Marc was a huge sports fan. For many years he was active with and coached at MAA, baseball for Tyler and softball for Brook-Lyn. He renewed his love of coaching with Jayden and LAA for a couple baseball seasons. In recent years, he homed in on his basketball skills and coached Jayden’s teams through LAA. While his Philadelphia heart always belonged to the Eagles, he was a Yankees fan, until Jayden was able to convert him into a Phillies fan. You could always find Marc in the kitchen, preparing delicious meals to fill the bellies and souls of those he loved. Joining others at the table was more than just sharing the food, it was about sharing the love and life sitting with him. He was known as "the best damn dancer on the dance floor" showing his appreciation for music in all genres. A man of few words most days, Marc has never passed on an opportunity to make a speech honoring any and all occasions for those he loves. Above all else, he loved to be with everybody, particularly with his wife and children, who he was devoted to.

Predeceased by his mother, Barbara (Gowers) Dyas; he is survived by his wife of 14 years, Danielle; his son, Tyler (fiancée Olivia), his daughter, Brook-Lyn, his son, Jayden; his father, Edward J. Dyas, his sister, Kelly Figueroa (John Paul); and nieces and nephew. Marc’s aunts, uncles, and cousins will also forever miss his infectious smile. Marc always held a special place in his heart for his maternal grandfather, the late James Gowers, and must have rejoiced at his reunion with him! Marc’s In-laws were of great importance to him, and he will be missed by his “mom” and “dad”, all his “sisters”, “brothers”, “cousins”, “aunts” and “uncles” and his many nieces and nephews. All who knew Marc will miss him every day.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, July 15, 2024, from 3:00 pm until 7:00 PM, at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown, PA 19056. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at 10:30 AM and Queen of the Universe Church, 2443 Trenton Road, Levittown, PA., 19056.
