Margaret was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Raymond Sr, son Paul, grandson Christopher and great grandson Cade. She was the loving mother of Raymond II (Sue), Mark (Joyce), her daughters Loretta and Monica, her grandchildren Raymond Jr, Jason (Kelly), Kyle (Reanne), Richard, Mark, Casey, Ryan (Gabbi), Nicholas (Katlyn), Miranda (Victor) her great grandchildren MacKenzie, Robbie, Kylie, Chase, Kinsley, Gemma and Charlotte along with her sister/best friend Eleanor Sims, brother-in-law George Mongillo, longtime friend Gerri Kelbaugh and many nieces and nephews.
Margaret was born and raised in Bristol. She attended St. Ann school where she won the American Legion Award. Margaret worked at Kaisers in Bristol where she was one of the many “Rosie the Riveters”. She met Raymond at a bowling alley in Bristol and the rest was history.
Margaret and Raymond made a life together which created a home, family, and endless memories. As an amazing mom and homemaker, she made the house a home and made everything, especially Christmas unforgettable. They had a vacation home in Sea Breeze, NJ where she was known for her hospitality, infamous fried crabs and weekend crabs and spaghetti dinners.
Margaret loved to golf, bowl and go out to eat among other things. She was a member of the Friday Night 49ers and the Tuesday morning Ladies Golf League, all at Middletown CC. She bowled on the Monday Morning Ladies Breakfast League in Penndel. She enjoyed her monthly lunches with her lady friends. She was a lifelong member of St. Thomas Senior Citizens in Croydon. She also volunteered on Tuesday morning at the Raymond P. Mongillo Sr. Senior Center where she would greet everyone at the front desk.
Margaret above all loved spending time with her family, especially when her grandchildren would stop to visit. No matter when you left the house after a visit, she would go to the window and wave the whole time you were in the driveway and would continue to wave until you drove out of sight. She enjoyed any type of family get-togethers and would not leave until she said goodbye to everyone she knew. She always left with a plate of sweets which she would come home and freeze for later. She looked forward to the weekends, spending Saturday nights with Ray II watching a Hallmark movie and waiting for him to bring home the church bulletin on Sunday along with breakfast made by Sue. With Paul, she enjoyed her Sunday phone conversations that could last for hours. She looked forward to going out to dinner, shows and shopping with Loretta. With Mark, she enjoyed him stopping over every other day to talk or watch TV together. She also enjoyed going to bingo with Loretta and Mark where she would only use her green dabber. You would find “Marge in Charge” with Monica and Casey preparing meals whether it be for a holiday or a random dinner which always concluded with a game of Rummy. She looked forward to the daily visits from her grandson Raymond before and after work and the occasional lunches he had with her.
Margaret loved music, especially her favorite band, Supertramp, which she attended 3 concerts including the Breakfast in America tour. Her favorite movies were My Cousin Vinny and Fever Pitch. Next to her recliner she wrote on a tissue box the channels for easy reference of all her favorite TV shows.
Margaret's favorite saying of late was “You know I am 92” she would say that proudly or when it was her excuse. She had a way of making everyone she met feel special and will be sadly missed by many.
Margaret was deeply rooted in her unshakeable faith in God and started and concluded each day with the rosary. There will be a Mass in her memory at Our Lady of Grace Church, 225 Bellevue Avenue, Penndel, PA, on Friday May 17th, 2024 at 11:00am. Burial will be on their wedding anniversary, Thursday May 23rd, 2024 10:00 am at Washington Crossing National Cemetery. Please be in line at the front gate no later than 9:45 am.
