Daughter of the late Charles F. and Ellen M. Shinn, Peg is predeceased by her beloved husband, Howard B. Stoeckel Jr, of 74 years; and her brother, Robert W. Shinn.
Born in Kennett Square, PA in 1921, she was a resident of Wilmington, DE before moving to Yardville, NJ in 1956. Margaret ‘Peg’ loved living in Yardville for sixty plus years. She had wonderful lifelong friends in their neighborhood and her beloved church,
the United Presbyterian Church (formerly Yardville Presbyterian Church), for over 70 years. She served as a Deacon and Financial Secretary, and was also a member of the Women’s Association. Peg was a “prayer warrior” who kept family and friends close to her heart in her daily prayers. Regularly, a group of dear friends and pastors would visit her from the church in her latter years which brought great joy into her life. She was a graduate of Goldey-Beacom College and started her career at AAA in Wilmington, DE.
Eleven years ago, she and her husband moved to Juniper Village in Bensalem. She entered as a stranger, but quickly made new life long friends and formed a new family in the final stages of her life. Her friends looked up to her as a role model for aging gracefully with dignity, caring, kindness, and respect. Peg was always concerned about the wellbeing of her friends and the staff at Juniper. Peg had a unique and special endearing and enduring relationship with each of her family offspring spanning four generations as mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Her legacy will live on for generations to come and shape their lives.
Peg is survived by her son, Howard B. Stoeckel, III and his wife, Marietta; her daughter, Linda Wright and her husband, William; Her beloved grandchildren, Scarlett DeRosa (Nick), Heather Karpinsky (Scott), Benjamin Miller, and Rachel Wright; nine great grandchildren, Madison (Stephen), Gabriel, Jacob, Nathan, April, Grant, Gavin, and Arianna; and two great-great grandchildren-Athena and Juniper.
