Marie E. Place

Born in Schuylkill County, PA, she was a longtime area resident. She had many roles in her career with Bell Telephone, retiring in mid-90s. She met Kenneth F. Place Jr at Knoebels Grove Amusement Park in the early 1950's, and they married in 1955. Together they had three children, Kathleen, Joanne, and Kenneth III.

In her limited spare time, Marie enjoyed shooting and playing cards. Later in life she enjoyed traveling, particularly to Ireland, England, and Nova Scotia. She enjoyed cooking and making homemade meals with family recipes.

Her true passion was spending time with her grandchildren with which she made a lasting impression as their grandmother and role model. She would babysit, watch them play sports, and attend Christmas parties and school functions with them.

She will be missed by all who loved her.

Predeceased by her parents, Oliver and Eva Grace; her loving husband Kenneth F Place Jr.; Marie is survived by her adoring children Kathleen, Joanne (Joe), and Kenneth III (Mary); her grandchildren, Kristen, Meghann (Steve), Kelly, Kevin, Michael (Meredith), Taylor, and Matthew; her great grandchildren, Bailey, Rebecca, Andrew, Rachel, and Andrew; her sister, Patricia Grace, and many friends.
