Marie C. Vance

Marie C. Vance, of Levittown, died on Thursday, January 28, 2010 at her home. She was 87. Born in Philadelphia, Mrs. Vance has been a resident of Levittown for the past 55 years. She was an accomplished actress working in various fields including commercials, theater, film and television roles and print work. She appeared in productions at the Off Broadstreet Theater in Hopewell, NJ, the Towpath Theater and the Bucks County Playhouse in New Hope and the Community Theater in Levittown. She also appeared on the Conan O'Brien Show on NBC and Big Blonde on PBS and in the movies Rocky III and Blowout as well as other productions. Mrs. Vance was the beloved wife of the late George T. Vance Sr. for 47 years. She was the loving mother of Janet Shahan and her husband Lee, Sharon Sweeney, George Vance Jr. and his wife Mary Ann, Edward Vance and his wife Kathy, William Vance, Margaret Micsko and her husband Joseph, Regina Torres and her husband James and the late Andrew Vance. She was the devoted grandmother of Melanie Creegan and her husband Chris, Tom Sweeney, Jr. and his wife Deanie, the late Michael Sweeney, Kristine Carroll and her husband Richard, Ryan Vance and his wife Anne, Erin Racchini and her husband Anthony, Brian Vance, Susan Vance, Joseph Micsko Jr., Laura Roach and her husband Warren, Joshua Torres and Jackie Torres. She will also be sadly missed by her great grandchildren Amber and Sean Creegan, Tommy and Vance Sweeney, Kaidyn and Hailey Carroll, Warren Roach, Jasmine Torres and Antonio Vance. Family and friends are invited to call on Sunday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Rd., Levittown. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, 10:00 a.m. at Queen of the Universe Church, 2443 Trenton Rd., Levittown followed by Rite of Committal in Resurrection Cemetery. There are no calling hours at the funeral home on Monday prior to the Mass. In lieu of flowers, donations in Marie's memory may be made to Chandler Hall Hospice, 99 Barclay St., Newtown, PA 18940.
