Marilyn Maffei

She was predeceased by her parents, James and Julia Keefe (Gallagher); husband, Jeffrey Maffei; son, Michael Maffei; grandson Michael Maffei Jr. and sister, Marybeth Carey.

Marilyn is survived by her children Elizabeth (Jeff Sheldon), Jeffrey, Brice (aka David), Anthony, and Nicole (Allen Staltmayer); grandchildren, Matthew, Gabriella, Gianna, David, and Madison (Maffei) and Korina Diaz; sisters, Lorraine Humphrey, Alice Jenkins, and Barbara Keefe; brothers-in-law, David Maffei (Leona) and Tom Carey; nephew, Tom Carey as well as many other nieces, nephews, and friends.

Born and raised in Trenton NJ, Marilyn graduated from St. Mary's Cathedral High School. She was a hairdresser all her life and worked at Judy's hair Salon in Trenton for many years. She loved cutting her family and friends hair and when her children attended St. Anthony's grammar school she cut and styled all of the nun’s hair. She also loved spending time at the rectory. Marilyn was a devout Catholic who went to church every Sunday until her sickness would not allow and she enjoyed praying the rosary daily to provide prayer for anyone who was sick and suffering.

Marilyn loved going out to dinner and playing pinochle with her friends of over 50 years, Mary Vaccarella and Robert Immordino. Later in life she made a new "bestie", her co-mother-in-law, Heidi Staltmayer. They shared a strong bond that provided a friendship they both cherished.

She was a selfless woman who loved to laugh and make others laugh. Her character was a combination of wit and kindness. She was endeared and beloved by everyone.

Marilyn's family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until 12 noon on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Rd., Levittown where her funeral service will be held at 12 noon. Interment will follow at St. Mary Cemetery in Hamilton, NJ.To honor Marilyn’s memory, please get regular colonoscopies and other cancer screenings.
