

Marion Gallagher died on Friday, November 6, 2015. She was 87. Born in New York City, Mrs. Gallagher was raised in New Brunswick, NJ and has resided in Bensalem for the past 13 years with her daughter Melodie and devoted son-in-law Vince. She was a World War II veteran of the Women's Army Corp. She was the only woman who qualified for the Fort Belvoir Army Engineering School and upon completion worked at the Pentagon. Marion was one of 10 out of 400 applicants to be selected for the World's Fair Schooling which consisted of public speaking and selling. She escorted over 4000 people through the World's Fair and sold many on repeat tours. After raising her three children, Marion became a LPN and worked at Lower Bucks Hospital. She enjoyed going to flea markets, casino trips traveling and cruises. Marion was the wife of the late Carl Murphy and Edward Gallagher, mother of the late David Murphy and Kathy Kirk and grandmother of the late Christopher Mitchell. She is survived by her loving daughter Melodie J. Cipollone and her husband Vince; grandchildren Laurie (Matt); Sean (Amber); Chad, Aaron (Debbie) and Stacy (Kyle) and great grandchildren Liam and Brandon Friends and family are invited to call on Tuesday from 10 until 11 a.m. at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown where her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m.. Interment will follow in Rosedale Memorial Park.
