

Marita Stango of Yardley, Pa. passed away on Wednesday, May 24, 2012, with her husband and son by her side. She was 51. She was born in Pittsburgh, Pa., grew up in Levittown, and for the past 14 years has lived in Yardley, Pa. She was the beloved wife of 28 years to Tony Stango and loving mother to Anthony, Christie and Noelle, daughter of Michael and the late Katherine Markovchik, and daughter in-law of Dominic and Rita Stango. She was the sister of Michael J. Markovchik, sister-in-law of Nicholas, Dorene and Juliette Stango, aunt to Nina, Nicholas and Dominique Stango and Ashley and Michael Markovchik, and god mother to Skyler Bonelli. Marita was a 1978 graduate of Pennsbury High School and an avid PHS Falcon fan. She attained her bachelors and masters degrees in Education, on an academic scholarship from LaSalle University. She was a dedicated teacher of 30 years at Klinger Middle School in Southampton, Pa., active fundraiser, and advocate for Bucks County Montessori Charter School, and faithful parishioner, CCD instructor, and fundraiser for Our Lady of Perpetual Help church in Levittown, Pa. Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing Tuesday, between 5:00 PM and 8:00 PM, with Parastas Service at 8:00 PM, at Dougherty Funeral Home at 2200 Trenton Road in Levittown, Pa. A viewing will also be held at 8:30 AM to 9:15 AM, followed by a Panachida Service on Wednesday at Dougherty Funeral Home, followed by the Divine Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish at 1787 Woodburne Road in Levittown, Pa. An interment ceremony will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Bensalem, Pa. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to OLPH Church, at the above address.
