Mary Irene Finegan

Mary Irene Finegan, formerly of Levittown, died on Thursday, May 17, 2018 at Morris Hall in Lawrenceville, NJ. She was 88.Mrs. Finegan was born and raised in Carney's Point, NJ where she graduated from St. James grade school and high school. She has resided in Lower Bucks County since the age of 24. Irene graduated from St. Francis Nursing School in Wilmington, Delaware in 1951 and in early years worked as a nurse at various hospitals, but primarily she devoted her life to caring for and raising her family.Mrs. Finegan was a member of St. Michael the Archangel parish for many years and enjoyed volunteering her time at the grade school.Beloved wife of the late Edward T. "Pat" Finegan Jr., she is the loving mother of Edward T. Finegan III (Connie Lee Egan), Daniel Finegan (Patryce) and Mary Kay Weston (Michael).She will also be missed by her grandchildren, Allison Weston and Christine Weston-Wujcik (Ryan); sisters-in-law, Kathryn Finegan-Clark (John) and Jean Agnew Dyson; cousins, Patricia Finegan and Dr. Robert Finegan (Maria) and numerous nieces and nephews.Irene was preceded in death by her siblings Harry, James, Patrick, Charles and Thomas.Family and friends are invited to call from 6 until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 22 at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Rd., Levittown. Friends may also call from 9 until 10 a.m. on Wednesday, May 23 at St. Michael the Archangel Church, 66 Levittown Parkway, Levittown where her funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Rite of Committal will follow at Our Lady of Grace Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph's/Morris Hall, 1 Bishop Drive, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648.
