

Meghan passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, after a battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). Meghan was a resident of Levittown, PA, with brief residences in Bethlehem, PA, and Okinawa, Japan, throughout her 38-year life. Meghan is survived by her husband Randall, her parents, Jim and Sharon Maloney, and her brother, James Maloney (Lea). She was also loved by her niece and nephew (Jimmy and Astrid), aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Meghan is a 2005 graduate of Neshaminy High School. She then attended Kean University, where she earned a degree in recreational therapy. While overseas, Meghan developed a passion for the veterinary field and became a veterinarian technician. She always had a passion for helping others and held positions in different organizations that focused on helping those in need. Meghan had endless love for canine friends, often putting their needs above her own. She worked closely with several animal rescue facilities throughout her life and was always willing to bring home a furry friend for the night or more when they needed a little extra love.
Meghan had a long history of volunteering and working for the betterment of others. She enlisted in AmeriCorps and served on the West Coast of the United States. When the tornadoes ripped through Joplin, MO, she was one of the volunteers on-site helping the community. She won a Presidential Medal for a project she coordinated while in AmeriCorps. While abroad in Okinawa, Japan, she volunteered with the U.S.O. and was recognized by the mayor of Okinawa for her community service work. Meghan was an active supporter of several local animal rescue organizations and volunteered with one of her true loves, rugby. Meghan loved playing rugby since her time in Bethlehem PA. In Okinawa, she coached young boys and girls, and most recently, she fully immersed herself in the Hibernian Rugby RFC culture, where she served on their executive committee.
Wherever she lived, Meghan was a Philadelphia Phaithful. In Japan, she would wake early just to watch the Birds play. She would scream and yell at the Phillies, and she would be the first person to reach out about celebrating a milestone victory at Five Points. Meghan lived for the Philadelphia sports teams.
Friends and family are invited to visit Wednesday, October 8, 2025 from 6:00pm to 8:00 pm and Thursday, October 9, 2025 from 10:00am to 11:00 am with a celebration of life beginning at 11:00 am at James J. Dougherty Funeral Home in Levittown, PA, 2200 Trenton Rd, Levittown, PA.
