Michael Joseph Friel Sr, a cherished member of the Bucks County community, passed away on July 2, 2025 surrounded by family. Raised in the same area he lived his adult life, Michael dedicated over 30 years of his career to the state of New Jersey, where he served as the head of facilities.
Michael graduated from Bishop Egan High School in 1970, where he was the quarterback of the football team that won the city championship. He went on to earn a bachelor's degree in criminal justice, from Temple University. Michael's passion for sports continued throughout his life, as he was an avid fan of college football, the Phillies, and the Eagles, and enjoyed a day out playing golf.
A committed member of St. Frances Cabrini Church and the Knights of Columbus, Michael contributed to his community through both faith and action.
Mike was the kind of man who would be in your corner and the person you could count on to be there. For years you could find reliable Mike cheering on his boys at their games and continued his support as his grandchildren joined their own teams. His presence was a constant source of strength and joy, particularly during the big cruise trips that he loved organizing for his family.
A devoted husband and cruise partner to his wife Patricia, for 49 years, Michael was a loving father to Kevin and the late Michael Jr., and a doting "Pop" to his grandchildren Savannah and Avery. Pop will be remembered for his love of family and the great times together on their family cruise outings. Mike will also be remembered by his brothers Joseph (Pat) and James (Loretta); and sisters Marianne (Bob), Agnes, and Patty (Tom).
A visitation for Michael will be held Tuesday, July 8, 2025 from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM, with a Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 9:30 AM at St. Frances Cabrini Church, 325 S. Oxford Valley Road, Fairless Hills, PA 19030.
Burial to follow at Resurrection Cemetery, 5201 Hulmeville Rd, Bensalem, Pennsylvania 19020.
