Born in Hazleton, PA, he was a lifelong resident of Levittown, with a 10-year period in Las Vegas. He was a graduate of Pennsbury High School, Class of 1959 and employed by US Steel Fairless Works from 1963 to 1989 until a work accident forced him into retirement.
Mike, the beloved husband to Bunni (nee Bailey) the love of his life and his four children: Terri Cauto/Mike of Levittown, PA, Debbie DiAngelo/Mike of Pipersville, PA, John Maholick/Brandy of Sheridan, WY and Michael Maholick, Jr./Etienne of Philadelphia. He was the much loved Pop-pop to Zachary DiAngelo, Kasey Looper/Hunter, Haley Anderson/Ty and Lauren DiAngelo and Great Grandfather to Nora and Colette Anderson.
Mike’s early family years were devoted to Bunni and his four children, coaching and following their many sports teams as their #1 fan. He loved family vacations and was known to say he would love the beach if it didn't have sand; he loved getting his slice of pizza on the boards.
Mike, an avid Philly fan, most passionately about the Phillies. He loved going to the games first at the Vet and then Citizens Bank Park and collected every yearbook. He loved going to see the Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs (the Phillies’ minor team). One of his favorite trips was going to Clearwater, FL to watch the Phillies spring training. Baseball was his niche. Ask him any baseball question and he knew the answer.
In his retired years, besides baseball he loved to read, oil paint and listen to country music. You could often find him lying on the floor, headphones on jamming to his favorites - Johnny Cash, Hank Williams Sr. And Alan Jackson.
A wonderful and loyal friend, Mike touched the lives of everyone who knew and met him. He will be greatly missed.
