

Born in Niles, Ohio, Nick resided in Penndel and Fairless Hills before moving to Warrington 13 years ago. He graduated from Bishop Egan High School in 1964 and achieved his Bachelor's in Music from Salem College in West Virginia. He was a talented pianist and had been interested in pursuing a career in music after graduating.
Nick was a member of St. Frances Cabrini parish. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves.
Nick owned and operated the former Alvino's Restaurants located in Langhorne, Morrisville and Andalusia and afterward was a Deli manager with Giant Supermarkets.
Most important to Nick was spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. He will be lovingly remembered as a man with a big heart and a tremendous sense of humor.
Beloved husband of Darlene (Armour) for 47 years, Nick was the loving father of Nicholas C. Alvino Jr. (Lila), Anthony Alvino (Jill), Mark Alvino and Jay Alvino (Amy) and was a devoted grandfather to Julianna, Abrielle, Grace, Nicholas, James and Joey.
Son of the late Nicola and Angelina Alvino, Nick was the brother of Tony (Arlene), Bob (Joanne), Millie Vargo (Bob) and Connie Ellis (Rich) and will also be missed by many nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Family and friends are invited to call from 6 until 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 18th, at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Rd., Levittown. Family and friends are also invited to attend his funeral Mass at precisely 9:30 a.m. on Friday, March 19th at St. Frances Cabrini Church, 325 S. Oxford Valley Rd., Fairless Hills. There are no calling hours on Friday prior to the Mass. Interment is private.
