Ray J. Marovelli, age 99.7 years, of Fallsington, Pennsylvania, passed away on September 19, 2026. Born in Lafferty, Ohio, he was raised in the coal regions of northeastern Pennsylvania, near Scranton.
After residing in Jessup and Peckville, Pennsylvania, Ray relocated to Lower Bucks County for employment with Kaiser Metal Products and later worked as an aircraft mechanic in 1952. Ray proudly served in the U.S. Navy as a Pharmacist’s Mate Second Class during World War II. He was later recalled to active duty during the Korean War. Following his military service, he became employed in the Pipe Mill Division of USX Corporation, where he worked for 30½ years before retiring in 1985.
An avid philatelist and numismatist, he had a lifelong appreciation for stamps and coins. Upon retiring, he and his wife, Frances, traveled extensively throughout Europe, Asia, and Africa. Their travels included cruises on the Mediterranean, Black Sea, and Danube Rivers, as well as visits to the Balearic and Hawaiian Islands.
Ray was also a parishioner of St. Frances Cabrini Church in Fairless Hills, Pennsylvania, and a member of American Legion Post #960 in Levittown, Pennsylvania.
He is now reunited with his beloved wife of 53 years, Frances Marovelli (née Stepien) ; his brother, Robert Marovelli; and his sisters, Marie Andrake and Dolores Verduce.
He was the loving father of Marciann Horan (Edward), Carol Scerbo (George), Mario Marovelli (Helen), Rory Marovelli (Robin), and Loren Marovelli (Mary). He will also be missed by his five grandchildren, Erik, Jonathan, Erica, Michael, and Taylor; eight great-grandchildren, Colton, Kiley, Reid, Vincent, Gio, Jameson, Matix, and Savannah; and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to attend services at James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown, PA 19056 on Monday, September 28, 2026. A viewing will begin at 9:00 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Entombment will follow at the Mausoleum of Rosedale Memorial Park, 3850 Richlieu Road, Bensalem, PA 19020.
