

Richard B. Gibney, Sr. passed on Wednesday, February 8, 2017, surrounded by family, at Delaware Valley Veterans Home in Philadelphia. He was 85.Born and raised in the Juniata Park section of Philadelphia, he was a graduate of North Catholic High School. He moved to Levittown in 1956, where he was an original homeowner. Rich has been a resident of Yardley for the past 12 years and a current member of Queen of the Universe Parish, Levittown.Rich was a proud US Air Force Korean War veteran.He spent most of his working career in the automobile industry and was later the owner/operator of R.B. Gibney and Sons Industrial Supply.Rich was an avid Philadelphia sports fan and enjoyed boating on the Chesapeake Bay with his loving family who was always most important to him.Beloved husband of 64 years to Marguerite A. (Cliggett), Rich was the devoted and loving father of Daniel T. (Susan) of Fairless Hills, Dr. Michael J. (Edoardo) of Puerto Vallarata, Mexico, Maureen M. Nolte Lees (Michael) of Furlong. Jacqueline Medaglia of Newtown and the late Richard B., Jr. Rich will also be sadly missed by his eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday from 10:00 until 11:00 am at Queen of the Universe Church, 2443 Trenton Road, Levittown, where his funeral mass will be held at 11:00 am. Interment will be held privately.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name may be made to the Delaware Valley Veterans Home, 2701 Southampton Rd., Philadelphia, PA 19154 or to the Native American Heritage Association, 830-F John Marshall Highway, Front Royal, VA 22630.
