Born in Trenton, NJ, he was a lifelong area resident. Rich served his country honorably for 26 years in the US Navy and Navy Reserve, as a P-3 Orion Pilot, and attaining the rank of Lt. Commander.
Rich was a founding member of the New Jersey Naval Militia, where he obtained the rank of Commander.
In civilian life, Rich taught for the Hamilton Twp. (Mercer) School District until his retirement. He also was a part-time real estate agent for Weidel, and taught computer programming for the State of NJ.
In his limited spare time, Rich enjoyed going to the shooting range, riding his motorcycle, and camping. He was black belt in Budukwan Karate.
Burial with full military honors will take place on Friday, August 22, 2025 at 9:30 AM at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Ave, Newtown, PA. Please be in the cortege line at the main office no later than 9:15 AM.
