

Born in Trenton, NJ, and formerly of Bensalem, Mr. Mitzen has been a resident of Langhorne for the past 3 years.
Until his retirement in 1993, Mr. Mitzen was employed with A&P Supermarkets for 38 years.
Richard was an avid sports fan always routing for his favorite Philadelphia teams, the Eagles and Phillies. He was also a fan of NASCAR and enjoyed fishing and card games with his family. He was a member of the Bensalem Senior Center.
Mr. Mitzen proudly served in the US Army during the Vietnam War.
His family was his whole life. He enjoyed meeting with his siblings once a month for lunch.
Mr. Mitzen is the loving father of the late Dawn King.
Beloved husband of 42 years to Carolyn (Delahanty), he is also survived by his devoted children, Carolyn Haigh (Rick), Charlene Sherman, Kimberly Molloy (Bernie), Kelly Sokoloski (Dean), and Christine Kidner (Bill); his 14 grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren.
Mr. Mitzen is the brother of Kitty Martinez, Paul Mitzen (Sharon), Nancy Schumacher (Bob), Joseph Mitzen and the late Alexander and Frank Mitzen; and the uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, February 18, 2020, from 9:00 until 10:15 am at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown, where his funeral service will be held at 10:15 am. Interment will follow in Washington Crossing National Cemetery in Newtown.
