Richard "Rick" Joseph Schwenk, 76, passed away on August 7, 2026, at Deborah Heart and Lung Center in Browns Mills, New Jersey. Born on October 6, 1949, in Norristown, Pennsylvania, Rick was a 1967 graduate of Pennsbury High School. He lived a full and meaningful life centered on his family, his career, and his many passions.
Rick enjoyed a successful career in sales, retiring in 2017 after ten years as the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast Region Territory Manager for BASF. Though his career and life adventures led him to spend much of his middle years in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, and the Orlando, Florida area, he returned home to the Philadelphia region in 2013 alongside his beloved wife to be closer to their loved ones.
A man of diverse interests, Rick loved cooking, playing golf, following NASCAR, staying informed on current events, and exploring the world through travel. Above all else, he was a devoted family man. He loved his entire family deeply and took immense pride in his sons and grandsons.
Rick was predeceased by his parents, Hugh and Catherine (Pfleger) Schwenk.
He is survived by his high school sweetheart and loving wife of 56 years, Sandy; his sisters, Jean Phillips and Mary Beth Scoz; his son Rick and his wife, Andrea, along with their son, Hudson; and his son Chris and his wife, Angie, along with their son, Owen.
A public viewing will be held on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, 2200 Trenton Rd., Levittown, PA. A memorial service will begin immediately following at 11:30 AM. Burial will follow at Holy Trinity Cemetery, 875 River Rd., Morrisville, PA.
