I am so sorry to hear about Bob Alvino, I worked for Bob for many years, I was a waitress at his restaurant and I loved it! Bob was a very nice man and he loved his family!! I want to send loving thoughts to all of his family and friends, prayers to all.    Sincerely, Jarrie Mullen

Bob was one of the truly nicest people I have ever known and it was my honor to be able to call him a valued friend.   He always found a positive when ever challenged or faced with a difficult situation and, in doing so, brought out the best in others, including myself.  He will be missed!  Rest in Peace good friend!

My 10 year old daughter and i went to dinner at Alvino's on New Falls Road. She left her Retainer in a napkin on the table. I didn't know this until we got home from dinner. I called the restaurant and spoke to Mr. Alvino. He told me to come back to the restaurant and we could look for it. When I arrived Mr. Alvino had his car facing the dumpster with the headlight on. He was in the dumpster looking though the trash. Sure, enough he found it.  He remembered my daughter and I being in the restaurant and said to me that red head daughters are special. 
My daughter is now 41 years old!!

I would like to express our deepest condolences to the Alvino family.  Bob bought our childhood home to open Alvin’s Restaurant on Oxford Valley Rd.  My brothers and I, along with many friends worked at the restaurant. He was a kind and warm person.

Words cannot describe how much Bob meant to me. He was a dear friend, mentor, and father-figure (especially during my late teenage years). I will never forget the restaurant and life lessons that he so graciously taught me. Bob was special, a generational soul. I consider myself lucky and blessed to have known and spent time with him. I can still hear his voice, his coaching, his teaching, and his love for life. I am different because of Bob’s influence. He believed in me and he never gave up on me. I will take a part of Bob with me wherever I go. ♥️

I worked for Bob and have so many happy memories that I think of him often. He was one of the funniest, kind and genuine person. He really gave his all to everyone and everything he did and I try to keep that work ethic in my life as well! He will be missed as he left a mark with everyone he met.

Bob Alvino was a great person, wonderful father and successful businessman. He gave my son one of his first jobs at his restaurant Alvino’s, on New Falls Road years ago, and I will never forget that. Thank you Bob, RIP

I started working for Bob 25 years ago.  It was my first job and the very first day I walked thru the doors of alvinos on new falls road a met a hostess that brought me into the kitchen to meet Bob. Coincidentally I went on to marry that hostess and we’re still married all these years later.  ( thanks Bob ❤️)

I learned a lot from Bob about the restaurant business in my 5 years working for him.  But I learned more about how to be a good father and husband from him.
