Robert was born in Staten Island, NY, to parents, William and Mary McGinn. Bob worked as a police officer for NYPD for over 10 years. He later worked for the Social Security Administration for over 25 years. In addition, Mr. McGinn served in the Army.
Bob was a fourth sergeant with Knights of Columbus, and was a member of this organization for 20 years. He also was a life-long practicing Franciscan. In his spare time Bob enjoyed playing golf. He was a very devout Christian his whole life and was most recently a member of Queen of the Universe Parish.
Bob was preceded in death by his wife of 17 years Catherine McGinn, his son Robert S. McGinn, his parents, and nine siblings.
Bob is survived by his son James Michael (as his mother would say) “Jimmy” McGinn, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
A viewing for Robert will be held Monday, April 15, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown, Pennsylvania 19056. A secondary viewing will take place on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at Queen of the Universe, 2443 Trenton Road, Levittown, Pennsylvania 19056, followed by a funeral mass, and burial at Resurrection Cemetery, 5201 Hulmeville Road, Bensalem, PA 19020.
