

Roland A. Desjardins died on Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at The Brunswick at Attleboro in Langhorne. He was 89. Born in New Bedford, MA, Mr. Dejardins was a graduate of New Bedford Vocational High School and Northeastern University. He has been a long time resident of Levittown and was a member of Queen of the Universe Church. He was also a member of the Middletown Senior Center. Mr. Desjardins was a member of the Senior Olympics, and also enjoyed playing softball with the "Oldies but Goodies". He served in the US Army Air Corp during World War II and enjoyed the 8th Air Force Reunions. Mr. Desjardins was employed with Boeing Vertol as an engineer for many years. Beloved husband of the late Lillian (Maye) Desjardins, he was the loving father of Reverend James Michael Desjardins, S.J. of Tomsk, Russia, Amanda Buhler (Frank) of Golden, CO, Guy Desjardins (Jackalin) of Levittown and the late Sam Desjardins. Mr. Desjardins was the devoted grandfather of Ian, Monique, Brigitte, Samy, Alexandria, Emily and Rebecca; proud great grandfather of six; and the brother of Rita Lemlin. He will also be sadly missed by several nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to call on Monday, from 10:00 until 11:00 am at Queen of the Universe Church, 2443 Trenton Rd., Levittown where his funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am. The Rite of Committal will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
