Sarah A. Bender Sarah A. Bender went home to Jesus on Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at her home in Levittown. She was 88. Born and raised in Philadelphia, she was a former resident of Croydon and former member of Saint Luke's Lutheran Church in Croydon, until moving to Levittown in 1963, where she became a member of Hope Lutheran Church. Until her retirement in 1989, Mrs. Bender was a teacher with B.A.R.C. in Croydon for 20 years. Most important to Mrs. Bender was the love of her entire family. She remained the devoted wife after 69 years of the late Louis F. Bender. Mrs. Bender was the loving mother of Nancy J. Good (Randall W. Sr.) of Langhorne; Carol A. Kinney (late John E.), Luanne and Kathleen all of Levittown and Karen of Absecon, NJ. She was the proud grandmother of 12; great grandmother of 19 and great great grandmother of 4. Mrs. Bender will also be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her 5 brothers and sisters. Family and friends are invited to attend her memorial service on Friday at 11:00 am at Hope Lutheran Church, 2600 Haines Road, Levittown. Interment will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Mrs. Bender may be made to Hope Lutheran Church at the address listed above or to the charity of donor's choice.
