Scott Alexander Gowton passed away on May 1, 2026, in Fairless Hills, PA, at the age of 56. Born on May 29, 1969 to Cynthia Gowton and the late Dale Gowton. Scott will be remembered with deep respect and abiding gratitude for the steady way he showed up for others: reliably, thoughtfully, and with a humor that could lighten even the heaviest moments, often summed up best as “Funnier than all hell.”
For 38 years, Scott dedicated himself to the Falls Township Public Works. His long service reflected a work ethic that never sought attention, only results—day after day doing what needed to be done, with loyalty to his coworkers, his community, and the people who depended on that work. He had a tremendous heart and a quiet way of putting others first, whether through practical help, a kind word, or a well-timed laugh.
Beyond his career, Scott found joy outdoors, especially in fishing and hunting. He also poured his time and care into his sons’ youth baseball, a commitment that spoke to both his devotion to family and his love of sports. That enthusiasm carried into Scott’s love for NASCAR, the Philadelphia Phillies, Eagles and Flyers.
Scott is survived by his wife, Lynn Marie Gowton, whom he married in 1992, and their children, Kyle Alexander (Katelyn) and Connor Dale; his mother; brother, Kevin; brother-in-law, James Melville (Gloria); sister-in-law, Lorna Moyer (Donald); and his nieces and nephews, Donald, Richard, and Yvonne Moyer. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Nan Melville, will also hold his memory dear.
Scott’s life reflected loyalty, diligence, and a considerate spirit—made brighter by a wit that never failed to connect people. He will be profoundly missed and warmly remembered by all who knew him.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Saturday, May 16, 2026, from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, 2200 Trenton Road, Fairless Hills.
Interment will be held at a later date.
