A 1984 graduate of Council Rock High School in Newtown, Pennsylvania, Shaun proudly served in the United States Army as an Armor Crewman, attaining the rank of Specialist. During his active-duty service from 1986 to 1989, he received numerous honors, including the Army Achievement Medal and Good Conduct Medal, and earned Expert qualification with both the pistol and hand grenade. He continued his military service in the Army Reserve until 2000.
Shaun’s commitment to service began at a young age. In 1982, he earned the rank of Eagle Scout with Boy Scouts of America Troop 380, based in Newtown, Pennsylvania. Achieving Eagle Scout reflected the dedication, perseverance, and character that remained hallmarks of Shaun throughout his life.
His military service helped provide Shaun with the opportunity to further his education. He attended The College of New Jersey, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology/Chemistry in 1995, and later pursued graduate studies in biochemistry at Stevens Institute of Technology.
Shaun built an accomplished career spanning more than 30 years in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries, working for American Cyanamid, Genzyme, Amgen, Alexion Pharmaceuticals, and Regeneron. He retired from Regeneron in February 2026, where he served as a GxP Auditing Director.
While Shaun took great pride in his career and accomplishments, his children, Frances Eleanor, Giles Timothy, and James Major, were among the most important parts of his life, as was his stepdaughter, Kristine, whom he loved and supported as one of his own. Although his children lived miles apart, distance never diminished the close relationships he maintained with them. He always found ways to stay connected and make their time together memorable.
When visiting his children, Shaun loved creating adventures for them—planning scavenger hunts and day trips, exploring local parks, and visiting historical sites. He had a gift for turning ordinary time together into lasting memories.
Shaun had a lifelong love of the outdoors and adventure. He enjoyed hunting and shooting, interests he shared with his children, all three of whom became accomplished shooters themselves. He also loved motorcycles and especially enjoyed taking motorcycle trips with friends. He loved camping and being outdoors, and was always seeking his next adventure.
Shaun is survived by his wife of 18 years, Leontine “Lee” Kenny; his children, Frances Eleanor Kenny, Giles Timothy Kenny, and James Major Kenny; his stepdaughter, Kristine Marie Lux; his mother, Christine Kenny; and his sister, Faith St. Amour.
