

Stanley E. Bolesta of Levittown died on Thursday, April 6, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was 87.Stanley was born in Buttonwood, PA and raised in Plymouth, PA where he attended Plymouth Schools. He was an original Levittown homeowner for 63 years and was a founding and active member of St. Joseph the Worker parish. He was currently a member of Queen of the Universe parish.Stanley proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1948 until 1952 during the Korean War. It was during his service that he learned his trade as a millwright mechanic.He worked at Patterson Parchment Paper Company in Bristol and American Can Company and A.E. Staley in Morrisville before becoming employed with Lockheed Martin in Moorestown, NJ from where he retired.After retiring, Stanley started a new profession with the Falls Township Police Department as a crossing guard for the Pennsbury School District.Stanley was an all around handyman who enjoyed renovating homes and helping with plumbing, heating and electrical repairs.Stanley is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Gertrude Lenio Bolesta; his daughter Sharon and her husband Thomas Shephard; his grandson Mark S. and his wife Erin Shephard; his sister Jean Radzikowski of Dixon City, PA and several nieces and nephews.Family and friends will be received from 8:30 until 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Rd., Levittown. His funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at Queen of the Universe Church followed by Rite of Committal at Washington Crossing National Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Stanley's memory may be made to a charity of the donors choice.
