

Stanislav Joseph Malek Dr. Stanley "Stasiu" Joseph Malek, 93, of Bensalem, PA, died peacefully, at home (Juniper Village) on Tuesday, June 20, 2017.Stanley was born on January 1, 1924 in Brooklyn, New York to Thomas and Marie (Socha) Malek. On September 3, 1949 he married the former Tessie A. Tomczyk in Brooklyn. Stanley served in the US Army during WWII and was honored with a Purple Heart. He was a founding member of the Lower Bucks County DAV Chapter 117. Stanley was a Doctor of Optometry in Levittown, PA and was employed by US Steel. He served as Treasurer at the Fairless Hills Credit Union. As an avid supporter of Scouting, he served in many adult leadership positions in Boy Scout Troop 120 at St. Michael the Archangel Church. Stanley was also a member of Queen of the Universe Parish, and Saint Joseph the Worker Council #4215 Knights of Columbus and the Saint John Neumann Assembly Fourth Degree. He also enjoyed reading, gardening, his computer, and spending time with his family.Stanley was the beloved husband of the late Tessie Malek. He was the loving father of his five children, Mary R. Sweet (Cape Coral, FL), Joseph F. Malek (Myrtle Beach, SC), Dolores E. Malek (Montgomery, OH), Barbara M. Gentner and Husband Ron Gentner (Simpsonville, SC), and Dottie Malek-Witt and Husband Martin C. Witt (Levittown, PA). He will also be sadly missed by seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren; his brother Ted Malek and wife Rose (Lawrenceville, NJ), and his many nieces and nephews.Friends may visit from 6:00 until 8:00 pm on Sunday June 25th and from 8:30 to 9:30 am Monday June 26th at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown, PA 19056. A Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Monday, June 26th at the Queen of the Universe Church, 2443 Trenton Road, Levittown, PA, followed by the Rite of Committal at the Resurrection Cemetery, 5201 Hulmeville Road, Bensalem, PA 19020.
