Born in St. Paul, Minnesota, Steve later moved to California, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey, where he formed many lasting bonds and memories.
Steve proudly served in the Navy and later built a successful career in the sales of hydraulics and hoses. Outside of his professional accomplishments, it was the relationships and moments with loved ones that genuinely defined him. He was the cherished husband and best friend of 27 years to Deborah (nee Petrin) and a loving father to Al Andrews, Becky Wright (nee Andrews), and Michelle. His joy was doubled as a grandfather to Will and Olivia, who fondly referred to him as Grampy Steve. Steve was predeceased by his sister, Barbara, and is survived by his siblings: Tom, Mike, and Lynn, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Steve had a passion for riding his Harley, a competitive streak in bowling, a love for fishing, and a knack for picking out the best movies and TV shows to watch repetitively. With a humor all his own, he could playfully gripe about nearly anything, which prompted chuckles and eye rolls from those around him. His kindness was felt by many, and his adoration for his family and pets was palpable.
A viewing for Steve will be held on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m., followed by a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown, PA.
The family kindly requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Steve's honor to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
Steve's legacy is one of love, laughter, and unwavering resilience. He will be deeply missed but cherished forever in the memories of those who knew him.
