Sybilla Christina Henrietta Lada (78 years old) of Philadelphia died Thursday, October 19, 2023 from complications brought about from Congestive Heart Failure.
Sybilla was a German immigrant, who came to the States in 1953 with her mother and father. She graduated from Little Flower Catholic High School in 1964 with Honors, finishing eighth in her class.
However, at an early stage of life she decided it was her calling to take care of others before she took care of herself. Therefore, she put college aside and took care of her father when her mother became ill. She was a woman who sacrificed everything and helped others smile through life as that was how she achieved her smile. Her legacy as a loving, caring, warm-hearted person, to everyone she met will live on forever even though she is gone.
That was apparent especially with her love for her children, grandchildren and her pets. Strays especially, as they always had a way of finding their “heaven on earth inside of her home.”
It is impossible to share all that she has done for others in just a paragraph or two. The warmth of this women’s heart will comfort us for the rest of our lives.
Sybilla was predeceased in death by her parents, Stephan and Hildegard Lada, and her youngest son, Robert (Samantha) McIlwain. She is survived by her other two sons, James (Megan) and Stephen McIlwain. Also survived are her four grandchildren, Danielle, Darren, Dylan and Aubrey McIlwain.
A public visitation for Sybilla will be held Monday, October 30, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at James J Dougherty Funeral Home, 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown, PA 19056.
