Born in Philadelphia to the late Charles and Mildred (Koob) Clauss, he was a long time resident of Levittown, PA and Hamilton, NJ. Tom graduated in 1969 from Bishop Egan High School. He went on to establish a career as a Union Roofer, working for Union Roofers Local 30 and 30b for over 25 years. Tom enlisted into the US Army Reserve in 1971, and had a successful career, retiring as a Sergeant First Class. Tom was called into active service in 1990-1991, where he served honorably during Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm.
In his free time, Tom enjoyed all things related to the Philadelphia Eagles football, watching his grandkids play sports, and fishing.
Tom’s common saying of, "It is what it is," became his outlook on life and his legacy, to not dwell on the past.
Tom is predeceased by his parents; and his brother, Chuck Clauss. He is survived by his daughter, Amy Loteckie (Tim); his son, Thomas Clauss; his grandchildren, TJ, Tyler, Anthony, Claudia, Nathan, and Corey; his sister, Geraldine Malloy (Michael); and his brother, Michael Clauss (Cheryl).
