Thomas R. "Randy" Evans, Jr., died on Sunday, July 28, 2013 at Nazareth Hospital, Philadelphia, after a lengthy illness. He was 61. Randy was born April 21, 1952 in Philadelphia. He was a lifelong resident of Academy Gardens. He was employed with the City of Philadelphia as a claims adjuster, for 32 years until his retirement in 2005. Beloved husband of Mary Ellen (nee Monaghan), Randy was the devoted father of Thomas, John, (Lynde) and Lauren and the loving PopPop of Ryan. Randy is also survived by his brother, brothers-in-law, sisters-in law and many nieces and nephews. Family and friends may call, Wednesday, 9 - 11 am, at the Burns Funeral Home, 9708 Frankford Ave. (So. of Grant Ave.), Phila, PA 19114, where his funeral service will be held at 11 am. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Cemetery. Memorial contributions in his name, to CHOP, 34th St. & Civic Center Blvd., Development Office, Phila., PA 19104, would be appreciated by the family.
