Vernon O. Jones

Vernon O. Jones III, of Levittown, died on Wednesday, May 9, 2012 ay Aria Hospital Bucks County at the age of 70. Born in Trenton, NJ, Mr. Jones has been a resident of Levittown for 58 years. He was self employed as a service repairman for many years. Mr. Jones was an active life time member of the Levittown Fire Company #2 where he held many positions over the years. He was a third degree member of the Knights of Columbus St. Joseph the Worker Council #4215. Mr. Jones was the beloved husband of Grace (Ramsey) Jones for 50 years. He was the loving father of Jay Jones of Florida, Cynthia (Ed) Clavan of Bensalem, Jennifer (Rick) Akins of Florida and Matthew (Tina) Jones of Florida. He was the brother of Kathleen Jones Scott of Newtown, Susan Labor of Bristol and the late Ann Marie Marshall and David F. Jones. He will also be missed by 9 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday from 8 until 10:30 a.m. at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Rd., Levittown. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Levittown Fire Co. #2, P.O. Box 342, Levittown, PA 19058.
