Virginia Hricko was born in Hazleton where she met her future husband at a family member’s wedding. From the age of five she resided in Bristol, PA. married and raised her family. Of Slovak heritage, she was the second child of Peter and Veronica (Havrilla) Hricko.
She was predeceased by her parents, her son James, her siblings Baby Veronica, James Richard, Peter, Robert and Patricia, and her stepfather, Frank Koziol.
Wed to George Fetch for 39 years from 1956 until his passing in 1996. She subsequently married Carmen Valenti in 1998 until his passing in 2021.
She is survived by her children with George: Ginny (Gene) Cieszynski, George (Lisa) Fetch, and Ann Marie (Bruce) Massaro, nine grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren. Her extended family with Carmen: Louis (Joan) Valenti, Theresa (dec’d) (Lawrence) Daniel, nephew Larry Daniel, and nieces Lou Ann Guinette and Sharon Wilkie.
Virginia was a devote Catholic and cherished the community at St. Ann’s Church. She looked forward to reaching the age of 90, which sadly wasn’t meant to be. She prided that she was the head majorette of the band while at Delhaas High School and was hired back upon graduation to teach the incoming academia. She worked for the buyers at Pomeroy’s Department Store for many years and then for the Penndel Mental Health Center.
She lovingly participated in her grandchildren’s lives, their school years and attended their many sports programs. She enjoyed traveling with her husbands and with her children’s families. In her later years she appreciated being spoiled, fine dining, gardening, memorializing events with her friends and family, and get-togethers with Barbara Ostermann her childhood friend from the age of five. She cherished her conversations and visits with her children and grandchildren, her brothers and sister, nephews Albert and Pete; mass visitations, phone calls and dining with Larry, and the phone calls with her friends Maria Farruggio, Brad and Greg. Please, always know that you were so very appreciated in her life.
Mom’s service is planned for Friday, September 11, 2026, at St. Ann Catholic Church, 357 Dorrance Street in Bristol.
Viewing Times: 9:45 - 10:45 a.m. Mass at 11:00 a.m. and subsequent burial at Our Lady of Grace Cemetery at 12:45 p.m.
(There will be a future ceremony at Washington National Cemetery.)
