Walter B. Croke, age 94, of Levittown, Pennsylvania died peacefully at home on Sunday, December 10, 2023. A 63 year Levittown resident, he was born August 6, 1929 in Philadelphia, PA and resided as a child in East Oak Lane.
He attended Holy Angels grade school and was a 1947 graduate of North Catholic High School and attended Drexel Institute of Technology. He was a proud U.S. Marine serving during the Korean War.
Walter was employed as a photogrammetist at Aero Service, Phila. and ADR Associates in NJ for over 47 years, creating engineering maps from aerial photography, at first by hand, and as technology developed by computer. He was a member of the American Society Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing. His most enjoyable and treasured lifetime passion was raising his children and bragging about them to all who would listen. Backyard barbeques, badminton tournaments, and holiday dinners were simple pleasures that brought him great joy.
Walter was predeceased by his parents, Thomas Michael Croke and Eleanor M. Seckinger Croke; his siblings, Dolores, Peggy, Thomas, Bernard (his twin) and Donald.
His loving wife of 71 years, Elizabeth, eight children, 11 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren who will cherish his memory forever.
He is survived by children, Elizabeth (Bill), Walter (Redsy), Joseph (Maria) Mary Ellen, Bernadette (John), Timothy (Melinda), Margaret (Rocco) and Kevin (Diane); his grandchildren, Kevin (Jocelyn), Peter (Megan), Jessica (Brandon), Jacqueline (Trevor), Ann (Keith), Tim, Senora, Marina, Monica, Carmela, and Luca; his great-grandchildren, Brendan, Peyton, Simon, Eloise, Asher, Xavier and Oliver; his sister, Eleanor; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A viewing for Walter will be held Wednesday, December 13, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown, PA 19056.
A catholic mass will occur Thursday, December 14, 2023 at 9:30 AM at Saint Frances Cabrini, 325 S. Oxford Valley Road, Fairless Hills, PA 19030.
A burial will occur Thursday, December 14, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Resurrection Cemetery.
