

Walter Guy James, known to family and friends as "Guy", died peacefully after a brief illness on Wednesday, October 7, 2015, at Sunrise of Lower Makefield in Yardley at the age of 88. Guy was born in Frackville, PA to his parents, Ida (Tregea) and Thomas A. James. He lived in Bristol for 25 years until moving to Levittown in 1984 and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Levittown. Guy proudly served his country in the US Army during World War II and graduated from Bloomsburg State Teachers College in 1950. After graduation, he worked for 41 years for Rohm and Haas Company in Bristol as a Cost Accountant and Supervisor. He was a life member of Goodwill Hose Company #3 in Bristol, a member of the Middletown Senior Center and the Order of Odd Fellows. Beloved husband of the late Effie A. James, Guy is survived by his stepdaughters, Patricia Tassi (Guy) of Hamilton, NJ and Diane Smith Hibbs (Donald) of Robbinsville, NJ; 3 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and many nephews and nieces. Guy was preceded in death by his siblings, LeRoy, Thomas, Marion Sitler and Robert. Services and interment will be held privately.
