Wayne Walter Wood of Fairless Hills passed away at home on January 21, 2022. Born in Doylestown, PA, Wayne moved across the river to Lambertville, NJ after the flood of 1955 where he graduated from South Hunterdon Regional High School in 1964. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army having served overseas in Germany during his enlisted time.
Wayne was a big fan of all things Philadelphia sports, especially of the Phillies and Eagles. He performed in over 30 community theater productions, loving to tell stories both on stage and off. His favorite roles though were husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and brother. Those who knew him will tell you that his family was everything to him.
Wayne is survived by his wife of 53 years, Vera Ruckert Wood, son Wayne Wood and daughter-in-law, Jeanette, daughter Tara Hipple and son-in-law, Tom. His pride and joy were his grandchildren, Hannah and Wyatt Hipple. He will also be missed by his doting sisters Bernadette Jones and Norma Reimer and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Wayne’s memory to his favorite charities: Travis Manion Foundation https://donate.travismanion.org/give/ or Washington’s Crossing National Veteran’s Cemetery https://guardiansofthenationalcemetery.org/donations/donate/
