

Born in Audenried, PA he was the son of the late William E Jones and Lillian V Jones (Watkins). He was a class of 1950 graduate from West Hazleton High School where he played football and was in the Naval Reserves. William served his country and was a proud Korean War Veteran P.F.C. INF. USAR. He was employed at Rohm & Haas for 38 years. Bumper was an active, long-time member of the Emilie Methodist Church. He was also a member of The Pennsylvania Free Masons where he served as Past Master at the Fairless Hills Lodge #776 and was an active member of the Bristol Lodge #25. Bumper served as a Past Worthy Patron of the Order of Eastern Star LeFair Chapter #535 and a member of Order of the Amaranth Amy F. Schmidt Memorial Court #104.
Bumper lived in Levittown for 72 years and was an original Levittown owner where he was an active member in his community, coaching and volunteering at Levittown International Little League at the Bumper Jones Field which was dedicated to him in 1999. He was also a coach for the Billington VFW Men’s Softball League. He followed local politics and helped when he was needed. He always offered a helping hand to everyone he met. Most of all he loved spending time with his family and his adoring dog Honey. He enjoyed gardening, loved going to Avalon NJ, Myrtle Beach SC, Phillies games and the Bethlehem Music Fest.
Bumper was the beloved husband to the late Helene W Jones (Arey). Preceded in death by his daughter Denise A Jones. He is survived by his loving children Chuck Jones, William E Jones III (Patricia) Heather E Llewellyn (Todd). He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren David (Heather), Daniel, Billy IV, Amanda and Matthew and his great granddaughters Lea, McKayla, Arya and Harper.

Family and friends are invited to call Wednesday, February 25 from 5 pm until 8 pm at the James Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc, 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown. Services will be held on Thursday, February 26 11:00 am at Emilie United Methodist Church, 7300 New Falls Road Levittown. Burial with full military honors will follow at Washington Crossing National Cemetery.
