

LEWISTON- Adrien Gerard Tremblay, 87, of Sand Hill Road, Lewiston died peacefully Monday, February 2, 2009 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Lapatire, P.Q. on December 15, 1921 to Desire and Rita (Auger) Tremblay. He suffered the loss of his mother in 1923 but was blessed by the love of his step-mother Josephine Ruel. He attended Lewiston schools and was a Drum Corps Cadet. He joined the U.S. Army in 1942 and serviced the telegraph lines until World War II ended in 1945. He then returned to Lewiston and went to work at Androscoggin Mill where he met his wife of 60 years, Cora Elizabeth Caron. They were married on October 16, 1948. He went to work for Blue Rock Construction after the birth of his only son Marcel in 1952. Adrien was a member of the Passe-Temps Club in Lewiston, the American Legion and the 20M Club. He enjoyed playing golf, bowling and was an avid card player. He is loved, survived and missed by his wife Cora Tremblay of Lewiston; one son Marcel Tremblay and his wife Terry of Auburn; two grandsons Matthew Tremblay and Derek Arthur; one granddaughter Andrea Higson; one great grandson David Higson; and numerous close nieces and nephews. NOTICE Tremblay- Died in Lewiston Monday February 2, 2009. Mr. Adrien G. age 87 a resident of Lewiston. Committal services honoring Adrien's life, followed by Military Honors will be held on Friday at 2PM at the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery on Mt. Vernon Rd. in Augusta.
