Albert Rosario Bergeron, 77, of Sabattus, Maine, passed away at his home on August 11, 2026. He was born May 20, 1949, at St. Mary’s in Lewiston, Maine, the son of the late Rosario Bergeron and Catherine (Poirier) Bergeron.
Shortly after high school, Albert served his country as a United States Marine during the Vietnam War era and was stationed in Hawaii. Following his military service, he returned home and worked for Gendron & Gendron, where he fine-tuned many of the skills he would later put to use building a home for his own family.
On May 18, 1973, Albert married Pauline. Together, they built a life centered around their family and home, raising their three sons and, in time, enjoying the years that brought grandchildren and a great-grandchild into their family.
Albert was a man who enjoyed working on his projects. Along with building his family’s home, he restored furniture, worked around his property, and for several years operated a small engine repair shop from home. Whether there was something to build, repair, tend, or improve, Albert found satisfaction in doing the work himself.
During the 1990s, Albert began a career as an over-the-road truck driver for UPS. He spent many years on the road before retiring with a clean and safe driving record—an accomplishment of which he was especially proud and for which he was honored by UPS. His years as a driver reflected the care, responsibility, and pride he brought to his work throughout his life.
In retirement, Albert had more time for the things he enjoyed at home. He loved gardening, working around his property, and spending time with his sons and family. He could often be found on his tractor at just about any hour of the day, tending to one project or another. Retirement also gave Albert and Pauline time to enjoy many simple day trips together. Pauline lovingly doted on Albert throughout their life together, and the two enjoyed heading to Goodwill to see what was new and stopping at The Italian Bakery for whoopie pies and other sweet treats. These ordinary outings became some of the special memories woven throughout their many years together.
Albert and Pauline shared more than 51 years of marriage before Pauline passed away unexpectedly on August 6, 2024.
Albert is survived by his children, Albert and Christine Bergeron of Florida, and Paul and Bethany Bergeron of Sabattus, Maine; his grandchildren, Noah Bergeron of Lewiston, Maine, Jordan Bergeron and his wife, Brooke, of Florida, Hannah Bergeron of Florida, and Kasey Bergeron of Augusta, Maine; and his great-grandchild, Blair Bergeron of Florida.
He is also survived by his siblings, Rita Conner and her husband, Jerry; Theresa Desrosier; Ann White and her husband, James;, Richard “Ricky” Bergeron; and Daniel Bergeron and his wife, Laura.
Albert was predeceased by his beloved wife, Pauline Bergeron; his son, Robert “Bobby” Bergeron; his parents, Rosario and Catherine (Poirier) Bergeron; and his sister, Dianne Bergeron.
