He was born in Lewiston on Nov. 19, 1917 son of the late Ludger and Irene Turcotte Dionne. He served in the Army during WW II from 1941 to 1945. He served in North Africa, Corsica and France where he met his wife Angèle of Toulon, France. She passed away June 8, 2011. They were married 66 years.
He was honorably discharged in 1945 as a Staff Sargent and asked to be buried in the same uniform he had stored all these years, a patriot to the end.
He was a weaver by trade and an avid carpenter in his spare time. He built his own house and countless other projects involving wood. During his free time he loved reading books and magazines especially if it involved any form of history.
He was a first cousin to Norm Dionne whom the M.P.V. football trophy is named after at Lewiston High School and the V.F.W. is named in Auburn.
He is survived by a son, André Dionne and wife Donna of Lewiston; a daughter, Colette Dionne of Northampton, Mass.; a grandson, Marc Dionne of Lewiston; a great grandson, Isaac of Turner.
The family wants to thank the "whole" staff at Bolster for taking care of Albert like he was literally one of their own family from day one to the end.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial Saturday at 11:00 AM at Holy Family Church. Committal with military honors to follow at St. Peter's Cemetery.
