Well, Uncle Sam, it breaks my heart that you are gone from here. I know we will meet again one day. Boy, did you love to entertain people! We love that! All those songs sung with family and friends, the joy you brought. Your jokes, only you can say it! You always laughed when I said joke of the day and then tell me another. I'm happy that we got to see you the Wednesday before you passed. You were alert, excited to see my husband and I. You told us a joke and I got to respond with joke of the day and you laughed. You told us how much you loved us and how much you loved my Mom and Dad and how much you love your boys and grandson. You told us how much you loved your wife and that she was with you everyday! Shes a good woman you said and we agree. Your stories of cutting a tree and carving it in a boat like the indians did and riding out in the water for it to sink. The story about making a larger gas tank and taking the dents it by holding an air compressor to it. It sure got big and shot out the garage. When we went salt water fishing  and you pulled up a lounge chair and placed it on the enbankment. We kept telling you high tide was coming. You learned, we never laughed so hard. I remember the time we went to pick blueberries at Monmouth tower. It was a long climb up, you were to my left and you stepped on a dead mouse as I shouted it. I never seen you run so fast Uncle Sam up the mountain. By the time Aunt Maryann, my mom Marie and myself got up there you already broke branches off the trees and piled leaves and grass so you could nap for the rest of the day. One of my favorites was when Aunt Maryann was gone in town, you both were remodeling the place and you put red dye on all the carpets. There were red footsteps all over the linoleum that were on peoples shoes and socks. That red dye was everywhere. We can go on and on with stories, they were all adventurous and fun. We love you!
Aunt Maryann, you are a great wife, Mom and Aunt and such! You care for Uncle Sam!

Hey Dad, I miss you so much.  I have so many great memories and I will always remember the great person and father you were.  Chores didn’t seem hard with you around.  I enjoyed spending so much time in the county with mom’s family and my amazing cousins, uncles and friends.  We spent countless days in the garage working on cars, appliances, wood projects and just about anything that needed to be fixed.  We built houses, cut trees, split wood, used giant sawmills and you even built one at home. My John Deere won the home tractor pulls.  I loved the family trips to the dairy farm and playing in the hay barns. We planted gardens and lots of tomato plants. Not gonna lie but I still don’t know how you could eat so many sliced tomato sandwiches. You taught me how to drive a standard and just about anything with wheels.  You let me use your tools and showed me how to use them all. I loved riding in the old plow truck and changing the 8 tracks for you. I loved how you could be upset with me and forgive me all in the same sentence.  I treasured the hot wood fires and family time at Uncle Joes, I treasure how you always went swimming whenever you wore a suit at uncle Andy’s house.  I cherished how many tomatoes you and uncle Paul ate together. I cherished family time and feeding the horse at uncle Henry’s. I hope you are sharing stories with your brothers in heaven now. You always helped out family and loved your brothers dearly.   
Mom,  I’m sorry you lost the love of your life. He was a good man and I loved him a lot too.  I know why you picked him.   We will all miss dad but we will get through this together.

I'm so sorry to see that Sam has passed away.  My mom and I always looked forward to seeing Sam and his wife at Sunday mass. Sam was also in the Skilled unit for therapy at Russell Park. He was a so pleasant to staff. When he was discharged Sam and his wife would visit us and bring gifts for us to share. 
Thank you Sam for being a light in our lives. Say hello to my mom in Heaven .
