Arthur C. Gendron

AUBURN - Arthur C. Gendron, 90 of 46 Sleeper Rd., Lewiston died on Wednesday, November 12th at Hospice House surrounded by his family after a short illness. Arthur was born on November 22, 1917, the son of Charles and Josephine (Landry) Gendron. He attended Jackson School in Lewiston, Sacred Heart Academy in Jackman, and graduated from Lewiston High School. On June 6, 1942, he married Marie Blanche Baril. Both he and his wife Blanche owned and operated Gendron Farm for 65 years with help from their children. Arthur delivered his own fresh dairy products to homes, grocery stores, and restaurants for over 60 years. In September 1996 he ceased his operation and became a distributor of Oakhurst Dairy continuing to service his many customers. He was a member of the Basilica of Saints Peter & Paul all his life. He is also a 3rd Degree Knights of Columbus member Council 106. He was also involved in many farming organizations. He was an avid sports enthusiast following professional and local teams. He was especially proud of St. Dom's sports teams. He is survived by seven daughters, Pauline and husband Gerald Langelier; Constance Levesque; Lucille and husband Arthur Cates; Theresa and husband Roger Desrosiers; Patricia and husband Bertrand Labonte; Monique Gendron; Diane and husband Jeffrey Hutchinson; and one son, Roger Gendron; one sister Elise Paradis; as well as 12 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren. Arthur was predeceased by his wife, Blanche on October 30, 1999, a grandson, Michael Desrosiers March 21, 1992; a son in law, Daniel Levesque on November 20, 2005. Also his brothers, Emile, Mayo, Rosaire, Phillippe and Antonio Gendron. His sisters, Ida Moreau, Irma Therrien, Laura Roy, Rose Aube, Yvonne Raymond, and Eva Gendron. The Gendron Family would like to thank the staff at Central Maine Medical Center for their caring during Arthur's illness. Special thanks to the staff at Hospice House for their devotion and compassion given to our Dad during his final days. GENDRON died in Auburn, November 12, 2008, Mr. Arthur C. Gendron age 90 years a resident of Lewiston. A Mass of Christian Burial honoring Arthur's life will be celebrated SATURDAY 1:00PM at the Basilica of Sts. Peter and Paul.
