She was born in Gardiner, ME on July 11,1933, a daughter of the late Alfred “Chick” & Anne (Turner) Lessard. Betty divided her childhood between Gardiner and Lewiston.
She received her teaching degree from Gorham State Teacher’s College and her master’s degree from the University of Southern Maine. She taught her entire career in a first-grade classroom at Farwell School in Lewiston.
Betty is survived by her daughter Elizabeth Bonneau and her husband Marc of Leominster, MA as well as her beloved cousins Jane and James Dill of Old Town, ME Dawn and David Mealey of Farmingdale, ME and Dan and Elaine Murray of Belgrade, ME as well as their families.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Sunday, April 6, 2025, from 2 – 6 pm at The Fortin & Pinette Group, 305 Alfred A. Plourde Parkway, Lewiston, ME.
Burial in Gracelawn Memorial Park will be private.
